True to tradition, Schackenborg holds a small, cozy Christmas market, and this year the Christmas market has moved inside the old, beautiful Slotfelt barn, which is within walking distance - approx. 7 minutes – from the parking lot at the castle.

We offer a selection of local specialties and unique craft products. Although the market is of a smaller nature, attention is paid to the details, and it will be an intimate experience with the smell of Christmas and cozy stalls.

Schackenborg's Christmas market is known for attracting visitors from all over the country, and there is something for the whole family. In addition to the many exciting stalls, you can also enjoy atmospheric Christmas music and an activity for the children. When you enter the castle square at Schackenborg Castle, take a walk in the beautiful castle garden or walk around the castle's beautiful halls and rooms, you are walking in footsteps that stretch back a thousand years and perhaps even further. Hear about the time Møgeltønderhus, as the castle was called from the beginning, was one of the bastions of the Danish crown and church in the fight with the Holstein counts. We can hardly think of anything more Christmassy than when the fantastic choir Gospel D'Light, led by conductor Ole Jørgensen, gives a Christmas concert in Møgeltønder Church on Sunday 8 December at 14.00 You mustn't cheat yourself to experience both the Danish Christmas carols and Christmas classics from both home and abroad performed by some of the region's very best gospel singers.

Gospel D'Light is known for delivering a pompous and almost symphonic sound universe with lots of joy and energy - therefore it is almost impossible not to sing along when Gospel D'Light occupies the church space. Take your family, neighbors or friends under your arm and buy tickets already now.
