About the stay

When the leaves fall and the South Jutland sky is painted in warm tones, we open the doors for a very special experience stay, where you get up close to both castle history, marsh nature and local culture.

Based at Schackenborg Slotskro, an experience awaits you that begins with royal tales at Schackenborg Castle, a tasty 3-course dinner and ends with an overnight stay in one of the small, cozy houses on Slotsgade by the Slotskroen - all in the middle of historic Møgeltønder and only a few kilometers from Denmark's coziest Christmas town, Tønder. Give yourself a little break in the middle of everyday life. An experience that will stay with you for a long time.

If you have received a gift certificate for Schackenborg Slotskro, this can be used to pay in full or in part for your stay or purchase in the restaurant Slotskroen or the pop-up restaurant in Slotshaven Herskabsstalden. Please mention your gift certificate when ordering to the reception or the waiter of the day.

The reservation can be cancelled free of charge up to 48 hours before arrival. If there are less than 48 hours until arrival, a fee equivalent to the first night's accommodation price will be charged. Any additional nights will be cancelled free of charge. If you have booked 5 rooms or more, the cancellation deadline is 7 days before arrival unless otherwise agreed.

At Schackenborg we offer gastronomic experiences at our two restaurants:

Slotskroen's restaurant offers delicious lunches, afternoon coffee and homemade cakes, as well as an exciting á la carte Brasserie menu. Furthermore, our 5-7 gourmet servings can be enjoyed here from Thursday to Saturday.

The Manor Stables is located in the beautiful Castle Gardens and is open seasonally. The Manor Stables can be booked for events all year round.
